Monday 23rd March

It’s Day 7 and the world is shutting down more,
8.30pm comes and Boris closes every non-essential store
Bringing it closer to home the impact we face,
This disease is killer and it’s leaving a trace
This is it, we're on lockdown,
Each an every village, city and town
Stay safe and stay home,
One form or excercise with your house or alone.

Sunday 22nd March

Mother’s Day is here,
Something to bring us some cheer
Skype, House Party and FaceTime keeping us connected
Doing our own bit to keep protected
Happy Mother’s Day one and all,
If you’re not with yours, give them a call.

Saturday 21st March

Saturday morning temps noted on paper
So we can keep track of anything greater
Tesco are recruiting for 20,000 staff,
Retail is now Alexander’s new career path
Jokes aside he’s doing a good thing,
Applying to help keep Tesco in full swing
British Retail Consortium came on the news at 2pm,
To try and control the shopping mayhem
Telling us all to be responsible when we shop,
So the supply chains can keep on top
Mum and I went for a walk to the village Co-op
Dad went for a bike ride for 1.5 non-stop
Now all watching Saturday night takeaway
Even without an audience it’s more than okay.

Friday 20th March

It’s the end of Week One, hasn’t it been different?
I’m now in the countryside and it feels magnificent
Working from my parents’ house is really quite strange,
Everyone’s working habits around the globe re-arranged
Talking to my work colleagues via Skype like it’s another day,
Each and everyone doing their own bit to keep Covid-19 away
Alexander's made a return home due to his ski season ending,
He's got no job and apparently his gardening list is never-ending
Now off to watch Boris’ 5pm update again,
Wonder what he will tell us then?
P.S Alexander is opening a club at 9pm tonight in his room
Everyone welcome to join via Zoom.

Thursday 19th March

Woke up at 4am because my neck hurt,
Also mind on the go so super alert
Left the house at 7 to go and collect,
A keyboard and laptop stand to make WFH perfect
Then waited outside Argos to open at 9 in the morning,
Queues outside Superdrug and Iceland already forming
Back to the ironing board for a 9.30 call,
Feel like this morning has been a trawl
But I’ve upgraded my new lifestyle with an office chair,
And now on the train for some country air
To celebrate as a family of four for Dad’s 58th birthday,
Wonder if we’ll still be in isolation for mine in May?

Wednesday 18th March

Went for a run for some fresh air,
Sophie went and bought a desk and a chair
Lots of work done and lots of laughter,
Popping out of isolation boxes is fun to master
My neck hurts bad and it’s only Day Two,
Ironing board and dining chair don’t work, who knew?
13 pupils sent home from Elliot’s school today,
So we’ve decided for him to stay away
He feels a bit ill but could be a bug,
But we called instead for a virtual hug.

Tuesday 17th March

Day One WFH and work is mad,
Started working from my bed and back went bad
Only one table in the house so feeling the pressure,
Not sure how long WFH is going to last, hard to measure
Stroke of genius stroke a chord,
As I made a make shift table with our ironing board
Much better I feel and really quite impressed,
Did all my work without getting dressed.
